ABOUT STOKE REUSE
Stoke Reuse helps make reclaimed building materials easier to find, evaluate, specify, and put back into use.

There is no shortage of good material in existing buildings. But too often, the information and infrastructure needed to connect those materials with new projects are missing. Salvage organizations may have valuable inventory without an efficient way to document it. Architects and contractors may want to reuse materials but struggle to find what they need, understand what is available, or incorporate it into the design and construction process.

Stoke works on that gap.

We partner with salvage organizations, building owners, architects, contractors, and others across the reuse economy to improve how reclaimed materials are documented, communicated, matched, and ultimately reused. Our work includes material inventory and assessment, technical assistance, market development, reuse planning, and practical tools that help project teams work with existing materials.
The Founder
Katie Kuisle
Stoke Reuse was founded by Katie Kuisle, a Minnesota-licensed architect and LEED AP BD+C with a background in adaptive reuse and existing buildings.

Throughout her architectural career, Katie saw the same problem repeatedly: renovation projects contained valuable materials that needed to be removed, while other projects were looking for exactly those kinds of materials--but there was rarely an effective way to connect the two.Â
​
She founded Stoke Reuse in 2026 to bring design-industry knowledge to the supply side of salvage and help build the practical infrastructure needed to make building-material reuse easier to do at scale.

Stoke is based in Minneapolis and works with organizations throughout Minnesota and the broader building-reuse community.
The Truth
This is about partnership.
The materials, skills, and people are already here. The work is connecting them—and we’re looking for more people who want to be part of it.

We’re looking for designers willing to design around what’s available; trades and fabricators who can restore or modify existing materials—from countertops and lighting to plumbing fixtures and millwork; contractors willing to coordinate salvage before demolition begins; and owners and developers who want to incorporate reclaimed materials into their projects.

We’re also looking for people and organizations who see the bigger opportunity and want to help build the infrastructure that makes reuse easier and more common.
